Medicare Open Enrollment

Medicare open enrollment for 2020 runs from October 15 to December 7. If you are looking for advice on what type of plans would be best for you or a loved one and you want that advice to be completely unbiased (meaning that whoever gives you the advice doesn\’t get paid based on what they recommend), then try the Senior Resource Center for Douglas County! You can call 785-727-7872 to schedule an appointment with a SHICK counselor.

SHICK stands for Senior Health Insurance Counseling for Kansas and it is a free program. If you are not a Douglas County resident, you can call the statewide SHICK number for more information at 800-860-5260.

I have several clients that visit the Senior Resource Center for Douglas County every year to shop around for the best part D supplement. The counselors can also help with general questions for the different plans that are available for Medicare recipients.

For more information, please review the 2019 Medicare Supplement Insurance Shopper\’s Guide published by the Kansas Insurance Department.
