Hi, my name is
Stephanie Wilson
Wilson Elder Law is my firm.
My Botique Firm
What I do…
I am lucky enough to have a career where I can truly make a difference for others. My law firm is intentionally small. It enables me to provide the best possible service to my clients at a reasonable price.
One of my favorite things to help clients with is preparing to pay for long term care. Making the right legal and financial decisions regarding this possibility can make a tremendous difference for someone’s quality of life and their live savings should they need long term care.
Who I am
I am a Lawrence, Kansas native, though I spent time in Germany during junior high and high school.
Why I do what I do
I am the granddaughter of Evelyn, who spent 10 years in assisted living facilities and nursing homes due to her dementia, only to run out of money and qualify for Medicaid a month before her death. The lack of help available to navigate her financial and legal needs inspired me to limit my practice to elder law, estate planning, and special needs planning.
Professional Achievements
I hold a B.A. in Business Administration from the University of Kansas and a law degree from Washburn University. I am licensed to practice law in Kansas. I am also a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™. I am Past President of the Kansas Chapter of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys and I am Past Board President of Trinity In-Home Care, Inc., a local non-profit.
